Strengthening of FAG Industrial Services (F’IS) in Asia-Pacific
SYDNEY, SCHWEINFURT, HERZOGENRATH, 28th January 2005. FAG Kugelfischer is strengthening its FAG Industrial Services (F’IS) team in Sydney, Australia through the acquisition of CMSA (Condition Monitoring Services Australia Pty Ltd). Thus the Schaeffler Group Industrial, in charge of FAG’s and INA’s industrial business, consistently continues its strategy of offering the customer extensive services to complement the range of products.
Headquartered in Adelaide, CMSA specializes in the condition-based maintenance of rotating components. Services in the fields of vibration analysis, infrared thermography, tribology (oil analysis), alignment, balancing etc. have earned CMSA an excellent reputation in the Asia-Pacific region. Just like F’IS, the company offers holistic solutions in maintenance and quality assurance, tailored to the specific needs of the customer. Cooperation with the 15-member CMSA team is nothing new for F’IS. Prior to the acquisition, CMSA had been a certified F’IS partner in the services business for FAG Australia.
Now CMSA and F’IS are working together towards their goal of preventing unplanned shutdowns, increasing plant productivity and raising machinery availability. To this end, they offer the entire spectrum of proven F’IS services, products and training courses in the fields of mounting, repair, alignment and lubrication and others. Five branch offices on the Australian continent (in addition to the ones in Sydney and Adelaide, there are CMSA offices in Townville, Kalgoorlie and Perth) ensure that customers in Australia can be serviced quickly and cost-effectively. The Australian offices also represent the base for Papua New Guinea and New Zealand where CMSA has already established a regular clientele.

As an independent company, F’IS offers its maintenance services and service products on a manufacturer-neutral basis, so helping customers to save maintenance costs, optimize machine availability and avoid unexpected machine downtime.
